You can add a grid to your custom map by using the GRID option. Choosing one of the numerical options will create a grid on your map. The options are given in terms of degrees, i.e. "1.0" will give you grid lines at one degree intervals for both latitude and longitude. The grid will always reference zero, so that if you create a map that covers 27-47 degrees longitude and specify "5.0" in the grid option, you will get grid lines at 30, 35, 40, and 45 degrees.
